'Ghatothkach - Master of Magic' to be premiered at Cannes
| Mumbai, May 7 (IANS) Animated film "Ghatothkach - Master of Magic", made in the song and dance style of a Bollywood production, that depicts the escapades of Ghatothkoch, son of Indian mythological strongman Bhim, will have its first screening at the Cannes Film Festival, starting May 14. "The movie will be screened first at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival. Last year, we had promoted it at Cannes. Right now, we are in the process of finalising many brand tie-ups for the movie," Smita Maroo, vice president of Shemaroo Entertainment, told IANS Wednesday. According to Maroo, though "Ghatothkach- Master of Magic" was originally slated for release worldwide May 2, the date has now been deferred. After "Bal Ganesh" this is Shemaroo Entertainment's second animated film. Maroo said that in order to ensure animation quality as per world standards, Shemaroo had hired some of the best talents from India, the US, Philippines and Canada for the 100-minute animation movie. It will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali. Made both in 2D and 3D, the movie has been directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who made live-action "Appu Raja" and the silent movie "Pushpak." The music has been composed by Pravin Mani, an associate of music director A.R. Rehman, for all the seven versions. "Ghatothkach - Master of Magic" is a co-production between Shemaroo Entertainment and Sun Animatics, Hyderabad. |
