New Delhi, July 9 -- Six years after her surprise hit, Kya Kool Hain Hum, Ekta Kapoor is ready to flag off its sequel. "It will go on the floors in mid-September with a 20-day schedule. We will shoot intermittently through October and November and should wrap up the film by December. We haven't fixed on a release date yet, but it should be the 'kool' release of next year's hot summer," says director Sachin Yardi.
Sachin, who wrote part one, promises a wacky comedy with Tusshar Kapoor and Ritiesh Deshmukh. They're on the lookout for a new face and reportedly considering Kalki Koechlin (below right) and Jacqueline Fernandes (below left) for the other female lead.
Critics had panned the earlier film for its below-the-belt humour and one of them had even dubbed it the 'worst film of the decade'. But as Sachin points out, the audience went for it. He promises to upgrade the content the second time around and make the look more glossy: "It's a Catch-22 situation with films like Delhi Belly making chartbusters of Bhaag DK Bose... As a writer-director I don't know where to draw the line because the viewer laughs one moment and in the next, goes, 'Oh my God, chee!' All I can say is, be prepared for some surprises and a few shocks."
Part of the film is set on beaches in Goa. "It has a great vibe and has been lucky for a few films, including Tusshar's Golmaal series," he says adding, "So, we decided to ride our luck there."
