After a Diwali disaster Blue in 2009, Akshay Kumar would try his luck again next Diwali with his much-trusted Khiladi series. The actor would be seen in an action comedy Khiladi 786 - Made In Punjab.

Himesh Reshammiya and Akshay Kumar will co-produce the film which will hit the theatres in Diwali 2012. The film would be directed by debutant Ashish Mohan.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "The film will be an action comedy. Akshay Kumar has already decided to release it next Diwali. Akshay will play the title role and Himesh will be essaying the character of a Gujarati guy named Mansukh. Paresh Rawal will play Himesh's father Champak Lal in the film. The female leads have not been finalised yet."

Interestingly, Akki's comeback to the Khiladi series is Himesh Reshammiya's brain child. "The filmmakers are trying to rope in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra for two pivotal roles in the project. The talks are on. Himesh will also be composing the music for the project," the tabloid quotes the source as saying.

When contacted, this is what Himesh Reshammiya told the tabloid, "It's too early to talk about the project."
