Mumbai, July 19 -- Farhan Akhtar's recent role as Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, is earning him accolades from the industry and fans alike.
In past interviews, the actor said that he did the film as he wanted to tell Singh's inspirational story to the world. And looks like he is certainly keeping that promise. Farhan is now launching a line of notebooks with his Milkha Singh image on the cover at his alma mater.
Farhan volunteered to get permission for the launch at his school, the Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School in Juhu, from the current principal Kashmira Gundevia. He sought authorisation to launch the books on the school's premises, which Gundevia readily agreed upon. "The entire school has started preparations to welcome their famous alumnus and be introduced to a character they have loved so much," says an insider from the production house.
The actor got nostalgic when he met Gundevia, who had also taught him, and a few other teachers, all of whom are also confirmed to be part of the event on Friday, July 19. At the launch, Farhan will be accompanied by Mehra and the cast, including Sonam Kapoor. "When the makers decided to have the event, Farhan was keen to hold it at his own school as he was excited to relive the moments he's spent there," says the spokesperson of the film.
