Mumbai, June 13 -- They broke up back in 2007, but former couple Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor continue to make news even now. A few weeks ago, stories about their films clashing at the box office did the rounds - Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (GTPM) and Rambo Rajkumar were both slated to release on November 15.
But now, we've been informed that the big clash has been averted due to producer Karan Johar. He has pushed the release of GTPM by a week, to November 22.
"Yes, it's true that we aren't releasing the film on November 15. Due to purely production reasons, my film will now release on the subsequent Friday," confirms Karan, whose production also stars Imran Khan.
However, industry insiders continue to believe that Karan postponed the release to avoid a direct clash with Shahid's film. "It's not like he's worried about the competition. But he knows that if their films release together, there will be unnecessary focus on Kareena and Shahid's personal lives. So even though Karan is confident about his product, he wants everyone to focus only on his film," says a trade insider, on the condition of anonymity.
Apparently, this is the second time that such a clash has been averted. Kareena's Satyagraha was scheduled to release on August 23 this year, which also happened to be the release date for Shahid's Phata Poster Nikla Hero. But the makers of the latter eventually rescheduled the release of the film.
