Mumbai, Nov. 30 -- Emraan Hashmi is finally in a film where he's not the only actor locking lips with a co-star. In The Dirty Picture, which releases this Friday, the focus so far has been on Tusshar Kapoor's first on-screen kiss, and Naseeruddin Shah's steamy moments with Vidya Balan.
Emraan has remained in the background as the guy who hates Silk, and he couldn't be happier. But ask if he's going to live up to his 'serial kisser' reputation and he grins cheekily, "I'll get to kiss Silk too, I can't disappoint my fans and critics, can I?"
Point out that his son Ayaan is fast growing up and he'll have to explain his image to the little boy, and the doting daddy sighs, "I've not given this matter much thought... I'm lost. Maybe I should quickly do a film he can watch. The ones I have done lately (Raaz 2, Murder 2 and The Dirty Picture) he won't be able to watch until he's 18."
Does that mean Emraan is planning to star in a superhero fantasy like Ajay Devgn (Toonpur Ka Superhero, 2010) and Shah Rukh Khan (RA.One)? He shakes his head, "No, I don't care much for superhero flicks. I like Batman, but he is not really a superhero, given that he has some dark shades to his character."
Meanwhile, in his Friday release, Emraan plays Abraham, a rebellious young director from the 1980s. He admits that uncle Mahesh Bhatt was his role model, saying, "I stuck to his mannerisms and body language, and found other muses in all the rigid directors I've worked with." You wonder if Milan Luthria, who has worked with him in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010) and now The Dirty Picture, is one such "rigid" director and Emraan says, "No, Milan s very open to suggestions. But there are others, so many of them."
