Mumbai, June 20 -- After making a hit debut in Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che (KPC), Sushant Singh Rajput is now set to team up with the producer who first launched him as an actor - Ekta Kapoor.
Sushant began his career on television with the Balaji serial, Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil. Later, he went on to become a household name as the lead character in another of Ekta's shows - Pavitra Rishta.
However, in 2011, after he quit the serial, reports of an alleged fallout between Ekta and Sushant surfaced.
Now, Ekta is apparently backing her cousin Abhishek's yet-untitled next. The film is based on Charles Dickens's classic novel, Great Expectations, and the actor will play the character inspired by Philip Pirrip, also known as Pip.
Though Ekta refuses to divulge details about the film, she does say, "We are in talks with Abhishek about it. Let's see how it goes." Sushant, who is busy shooting for Rajkumar Hirani's P.K. in Belgium, could not be reached for a comment. Since KPC's release, the actor has signed several big projects. This is the fourth major production he has been roped in for after Shudh Desi Romance, P.K. and Dibakar Banerjee's untitled next
