Chitrangda may not play Asha

For some time now, late legendary music composer RD Burman has been making news over reports that a film is being made on his life. Actor Chitrangda Singh, who was reportedly considered for the role of Burman’s wife Asha Bhosle, contends that she did notice Vinay (Pathak) and Ram (Mirchandani; Chief Creative Officer, Eros International) talking about the film at a film screening.

“Actually, I had gone for the screening of Bol. And they were discussing the film’s story. I don’t know if the film is taking place or not, but Vinay seemed right behind the project. Ram, in fact, told me that he is going to invite me to his office (regarding the film),” says Chitrangda, adding that they were very excited about it. Vinay is reportedly being considered for the part of Burman. Eros denies that they are making any such film. “I can confirm on behalf of Eros that we are not producing the film,” says the spokesperson of the production house.

Asha Bhosle’s lawyers too deny that any film inspired by legendary music composer RD Burman or his life is under production. Mirchandani, on his part, remained unavailable for comment. Earlier, talking to HT Café, Chitrangda said that she had found the idea, of making a film on the two legendary people of the music industry, exciting. “I have been too busy with other commitments, so we haven’t had another meeting,” she had said.
