Celebs welcome Lord Ganesh!

New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- It's celebration time for Bollywood stars as after lavish Eid parties now lord Ganpati visits their home. Celebs are done with preparations and now are looking forward to this 11-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Salman Khan is known to celebrate the festival by bringing an eco-friendly idol of lord Ganesha. Since the actor is in the US recovering from a surgery meant to correct his nerve disorder, his family has maintained the ritual by getting home a green idol of Ganpati. "He always celebrates the festival in a big way and wanted us to do the same. But this time it is going to be a low key affair," says a family member.

In actor Jeetendra's house it's a ritual to bring home Ganpati every year and perform puja with family, friends and relatives. "We will bring home Ganpati for five days and preparations are full on," says Jeetendra's son and actor Tusshar Kapoor.

Actor Deepika Padukone tries to be with her family during the festival. "I try to spend Ganesh Chaturthi in Bangalore with my parents. This year I managed to get a day off so I am with with them," says Padukone.

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh's family has been celebrating the festival since last 18 years. "It is Ganesha's 18th birthday with us. All the preparations are done and now the celebrations have begun," says Neil Nitin. Actor Shilpa Shetty has settled for a small eco-friendly idol to avoid polluting the beaches this year.

Other stars who have been celebrating this festival every year without fail are Nana Patekar, Ritesh Deshmukh and Govinda.
