Mumbai, Oct. 6 -- Though director Zoya Akhtar is Farhan Akhtar's elder sister, it was the younger sibling who got an early break in Bollywood with Dil Chahta Hai (2001).
He even went on to direct Lakshya (2004) and Don (2006) before Zoya made her debut as a director with Luck By Chance (2009). The film didn't do well at the box office, but it earned Zoya respect in the industry.
On the other hand, her next, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), was a hit with the audience. Now that she is directing her third film, has Farhan seen a change in his sister's style of film-making?
"Every experience changes you. Having completed two films has given her knowledge on how to achieve things faster than the first time around," says Farhan, adding, "Her last movie was about three guys in a car. In her upcoming project, we have a family of 20 people roaming all across Europe. So she has her work cut out, and it is not easy."
But Zoya is always known to make big-budget films, so does the brother in him supersede the producer when it comes to making decisions about money? Farhan laughs and says, "There are ideas that you know will require a certain budget from the word go, and there is no point working on them half-heartedly.
