Vivek Oberoi bats for women's self defence training!

Mumbai, Jan. 8 -- Vivek Oberoi, who has been associated with charitable causes, was also awarded for his work in 2006 for rebuilding a village that was struck by a tsunami.

He has also adopted several villages for development and is one of the spokespersons for World Health Organisation's anti-tobacco campaign.

Vivek started a school in Mathura that has over 2,500 girls getting free education. A source reveals that the actor is set to introduce physical training and martial arts as part of the curriculum.

"Vivek has funded for facilities such as computers, and basic needs like food and water to be met with. His next aim is to introduce physical training and self-defense classes as a part of the students' curriculum. He believes that self-defense is an important subject for women to learn, to ensure that their own safety isn't compromised," says the source.

The source further reveals that the girls would be introduced to advanced techniques too. A trainer would be conducting these classes and will also include basics of martial arts and core strength. We tried contacting Vivek but the actor remained unavailable for a comment.
