Haider under attack again?

New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- Two months after students of Kashmir University disrupted the shoot of Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider in Srinagar, the crew returned to the city on January 27, for the next schedule, only to be met with trouble once again.

Shooting stopped for a while when a young man threw a fire pot (Kangri) at actor Irrfan Khan, while he and actor Shahid Kapoor were shooting a kidnapping sequence at Zaina Kadal area of Old city in Srinagar on Tuesday.

According to a local news agency, "The actors were shooting a kidnapping scene and walking towards a white car, when a youngster threw a kangri at Irrfan and the ash whirling in the air touched Shahid as well. The police controlled the crowd and shooting went on smoothly." But the police denied reports that a kangri was hurled at the actors.

When contacted, superintendent of police, city (north), Tahir Saleem denied the reports and told the agency, "There was huge crowd and the youth demanded autographs from the actors. When police tried to control the crowd, one of the youth slipped along with his Kangri which he was carrying."

When contacted, a source from the unit said, "All is fine in Srinagar and the team of Haider was not attacked."    Khawar Jamsheed, line producer for the film, was quoted saying, "This is the last phase of the shooting for the film here. The crew will be in Kashmir for 20-25 days." The film is based on Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare.
