Mumbai, Dec. 19 -- It's been over a month since Vidya Balan has been nominated by well known businesswoman Chanda Kochhar to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
However, her busy schedule kept her from participating in the drive. Now, we have come to know that the actor will pick up the broom next week, and support the cause before she leaves to shoot for a brand endorsement in the last week of December.
"After shooting the first schedule of her film with Emraan Hashmi, she is going to take time out for the cause. However, it is not yet clear which locality she will clean," says a source close to the actor.
Being the brand ambassador of the Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, the actor is content to have received an invitation from Kochhar. "I feel proud to have been given the opportunity to contribute to the cause of national sanitation in my capacity as its brand ambassador, and I am happy to be nominated for the PM's Swachh BharatAbhiyan by Ms Kocchar," says Vidya.
The actor believes that combined efforts will bring success to the initiative. She says, "I am eager to do my bit for this movement that has single-handedly brought the nation together, and has infused in us a common goal and purpose. More importantly, I'm sure our combined efforts will not only help make a clean India, but will also prove to us what can be achieved when we stand united."
