Mumbai, July 1 -- Vidya Balan has supported several causes in India, and often voices her opinions about socially-relevant subjects.
Now, the actor, who has been roped in as the brand ambassador of the Indian Film Festival Melbourne for the fourth year, has suggested that the organisers choose 'equality' as the theme of the function this year. The event that celebrates Indian cinema internationally, will begin on August 14 in Melbourne, Australia.
"Vidya might conduct discussions around the topic during the festival, but nothing has been decided as of now," says a source.
Vidya confirmed the news, and said, "Equality is something that I feel very passionately about, and in today's times, nothing seems more imperative than a free and equal world. I believe that art and films can help condition and change mindsets and attitudes, and I am overjoyed to see such wonderful films and events at the festival that will celebrate, and embrace the diversity that define us."
