Vidya Balan: 'I'm not bothered by box office numbers'

New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- Actor Vidya Balan is not afraid of accepting brave roles, like the one in The Dirty Picture, or incisive criticism, for films like Heyy Babyy.

She is known to not only deliver powerful performances but also to be actively involved in the promotions (remember her pregnant avatar in Kahaani?). However, moolah at the box office is not something she worries about. "I don't feel any kind of pressure about a movie's box office collection. I am interested in telling a story," says the 36-year old actor.

But she confesses there was one exception. "It was only during Ghanchakkar, when people kept saying, 'Oh! You are coming with Emran Hashmi, what will the numbers be? What will the opening be?' That did make me think, what if ? Unfortunately, the film didn't do upto our expectations. I hadn't experienced something like that in 5 years... Murphy's law (whatever can go wrong will go wrong). But it's not the end of the world. You move on," she says.

She will soon be seen with Farhan Akhtar in Shaadi Ke Side Effects. "Farhan is wonderful, to say the least. He has a great sense of humour and presence of mind," she says. Also dismissing rumours of her pregnancy she adds, "I'm not pregnant. It must be someone's funny imagination that I went to clinics."
