Mumbai, Dec. 8 -- He is set to shake a leg on screen, with his friend Shraddha Kapoor in Remo D'Souza's next. But even though there is still time before the film hits the screens, Varun Dhawan's statements, especially the one where he talked about Shraddha, saying "I can kiss her without inhibitions," has been creating buzz.
Coming clear on his equation with the actor, Varun says, "Shraddha and her family are like my family. We are like real friends. I am very comfortable with her. So, what I meant to say [through that statement] was that the chemistry people will see is our chemistry in real life."
Not just that, several other statements that the actor has made about girls (including the one he told HT Cafe that he finds non-celebrity girls more interesting) has been raising eyebrows. "Some seniors from the industry shouted at me for making that statement. I have actually been told by people not to talk about it. So, out of respect, I am not going to talk about girls per se (laughs)," he says.
On the professional front, Varun's kitty is full with projects at the moment, and hence the actor has not been able to provide his dates for the remake of The Fault In Our Stars (a Hollywood film based on the novel of the same name) with Deepika Padukone.
"See, I want to concentrate on Sriram Raghavan's film till it releases. And then, I am starting Rohit's (Dhawan's brother) film. So, dates are a bit messed up right now. We will see what happens," says the actor, also adding that he has not been offered the remake of Ram Lakhan. And does he keep track of what his contemporaries are up to? "We obviously hear of what others are doing. When they do interesting stuff, it inspires you too," he shares.
