Mumbai, June 14 -- Film-maker Karan Johar has been trying to get his ambitious project, a film adaptation of author Amish Tripathi's The Immortals of Meluha, on the floors for a while now.
Initially, it was rumoured that Hrithik Roshan had been offered the lead role, but that turned out to be mere speculation. Now, post the release of Tiger Shroff 's debut film, there has been buzz that the young actor has been signed on for the same movie.
However, his mother Ayesha rubbishes these claims. When contacted, she says, "Karan had called Tiger and the two met recently. Karan had liked his debut film and wanted to know what kind of cinema he is interested in. There was no formal offer made for any film. I do hope that they work together in the future. Meluha is a good book and has a great role."
There were also rumours that the family was planning to restart their film banner and produce a movie with Tiger in the lead. Ayesha says, "He has been getting many offers, so we don't need to produce one for him. In fact, Jackie too would like to act in films right now rather than produce them."
