New Delhi, June 9 -- Actor Tabu recently made news when it was reported that she has replaced actor Shefali Shah as the lead in a film based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case. But contrary to reports, hers is not the lead role in the movie being helmed by Meghna Gulzar, but only a cameo.
"Tabu shares deep respect and admiration for (Meghna's father) Gulzar saab, who has been her mentor, and hence agreed to do the special appearance in the film, which is titled Talwar," says a source close to the actor.
"While speculation has been rife that she has been cast in the film alongside actor Irrfan Khan, there is no truth to the reports. She has a special appearance in the drama and spent three days shooting for it," adds the source.
Tabu's closeness to the Gulzar family is well known, so it didn't come as a surprise that she was doing a film with Meghna. Although she is quite selective about the projects she picks, it is her comfort level with the Gulzar family and even Irrfan that made her take up this film. "Yes, it's a cameo of about five scenes. Boski (Meghna) is like my younger sister. I wanted to do this for her," says the 42-year-old actor.
