Mumbai, Feb. 25 -- Taapsee Pannu, who has featured in two Bollywood films so far, Chashme Baddoor (2013) and Baby, will be seen playing a Muslim character in Shoojit's Sircar's next, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. And, to prepare for the role, the young actor is putting her best foot forward by learning Urdu.
"Since Taapsee has worked in several south Indian films, she knows Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam well. But as she will play a Muslim girl in her next Bollywood project, she is taking lessons from a professional Urdu trainer to make her character look authentic," says a source close to the actor.
Taapsee is also spending time watching plays in Urdu. "She has been reading several Urdu dramas, and has also been watching recorded Urdu dramas online to get a better understanding of the language, and to learn the nuances," adds the source.
When contacted, Taapsee confirmed the story, and said, "I have started training in Urdu to understand its nuances."
