Taapsee roots for women power!

Mumbai, Aug. 23 -- Taapsee Pannu made Bollywood sit up and take notice of her with the impactful film Pink (2016). Following that she has been in news for being vocal about women's issues.
In addition to that, she was recently invited by the late cartoonist RK Laxman's daughter, Rimanika Laxman, to support her new initiative called Common Woman.
A source says, "While RK Laxman was famous for his cartoons depicting the struggles of the common man, his daughter's digital initiative will highlight the issues of gender equality [through cartoon]. Since Taapsee's role in Pink connected well with the audience and she has always spoken about women's rights and women issues, she was glad to be invited to launch the project."
Talking about the initiative, Taapsee says, "It's an honour to be a part of this historic launch. I am overwhelmed to know how the entire family of RK Laxman sir felt it was apt to launch this new initiative by me. It was a memorable occasion as people have associated me with the voice of a common woman. Rimanika has wonderful ideas about what ideologies the common woman will stand for. I can't wait to see her grow in this field and looking forward to seeing the common woman around."
