Mumbai, June 4 -- For the last few years, Taapsee Pannu has been juggling projects in Bollywood and in different film industries in the south.
Now, she has launched a company, which specialises in wedding planning, apart from organising other events. Here, the 27-year-old talks about her new venture, her dream role, and more.
Tell us about your new business.
I was planning to start something like this for the last few months, but I couldn't find the time to work out the logistics. Now, it's done and running. We work on all sorts of events - be it weddings or corporate ones. We ensure that everything is done to suit the client's taste, that too, within their budget.
How did this idea come to you?
While I was working on my next film, which is based on weddings, I closely observed how people make marriage plans in India. In fact, I was also impressed to see my best friend organise her wedding. Since then, I couldn't wait to start my own company. Things fell in place when my sister, Shagun Pannu, who had the experience of handling events, came on board.
How do you manage your projects across several film industries?
I just choose the scripts and directors I want to work with, regardless of the industry. I consider myself lucky to be tasting success in films in three languages (Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi). But I have only been lucky with my debut. I didn't struggle to get into the industry, but my struggle started after my debut. I have to now work hard to keep up with the audience's expectations.
What kind of genres interest you?
I don't have a dream role in mind, and I don't even wish to confine myself to any particular genre. So far, I have done comedy, action and romantic movies in Bollywood. I look forward to exploring other genres too.
