Mumbai, March 13 -- Actor Swara Bhaskar had a royal treat of sorts while shooting for her upcoming film, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The film starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead was recently being shot in Rajkot, Gujarat.
During her stay in the city, Swara was part of a special meeting with the Maharani of Gondal, Kumud Kumari, in the last week of February, when Salman, Sooraj and Swara were invited for a royal dinner by the Maharani at her residence.
Interestingly, while interacting with Swara, the Maharani discovered that the actor had a penchant for antiques and is interested in history. So, she gave Swara a glimpse of her antique collection. "The unit was shooting in the royal properties of the erstwhile Maharaja of Gondal when the Maharani invited them.
She showed Swara her collection of antiques, as well as art and handicrafts items. She also told Swara about the speciality of each piece," says a source.
Swara liked a falconshaped salad bowl in particular, which the Maharani had acquired in Wales. Later, the actor and the maharani were also seen shopping for handloom products at a textile exhibition in Rajkot.
The film's team wrapped up its schedule in the city on March 5. When contacted, Swara confirmed the news and said, "The Maharani has a beautiful collection of antiques in her house and was very gracious when she learnt about my interest in the same. She took me around personally and showed me her favourite pieces. I had a great time."
