Mumbai, June 26 -- Swara Bhaskar has made a mark in Bollywood with her roles in films such as Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Raanjhanaa (2013), among others.
Now, the actor might soon be exploring international waters as an Italian film director, Gigi Roccati, has offered her a role in his next.
A source close to Swara says that she has been offered to play the lead in his upcoming comedy film.
Apparently, Roccati met the actor when he was in Mumbai recently. "The Italian director was in the city a week ago. He got in touch with Swara, and narrated the script to her.
She has liked the role, and wants to be part of the project, but has kept the makers on hold for now. She wants to figure out her dates before making a commitment," says the source.
While Roccati wants the film to go on the floors by the end of this year, Swara apparently has a packed schedule, and is trying to modify that.
"Her film with Salman Khan has a Diwali release, and she will also be busy with the promotional activities of another film by Ashwini Iyer (director). However, she is trying to adjust her schedule to shoot for the international movie, and she is checking with the makers of her Bollywood films for the same," adds the source.
When contacted, Swara confirmed the news, and said, "I have been offered an Italian film. It's a lovely script, but I am yet to decide [whether or not I will be part of it] as there may be a date clash."
