Mumbai, Aug. 28 -- Sushmita Sen, who has been away from the big screen for nearly four years - her last release was No Problem (2010), is set to make a comeback with a Bengali film.
The movie will be directed by Srijit Mukherji, whose last release - Jaatishwar - bagged four National Awards. The writer- director says he thought Sushmita would be able to do justice to his film, and this was the only reason for approaching her. He adds that the actor isn't a quintessential Bollywood heroine.
"Sushmita is the perfect combination of beauty with brains. She doesn't fit the stereotype of a typical Hindi film heroine because of the way she articulates, and because of her height. However, that worked to my advantage because my protagonist is strong. I thought she would do a fantastic job, and I love experimenting with people I have not worked with," says Srijit.
The actor's comeback venture, however, will be devoid of songs. "I can't give away much. But there are four love stories, and Sushmita is the link. Also, silence plays a big role in this film," says the director, who has already started shooting for the movie in Kolkata.
