Mumbai, Jan. 15 -- Rajkumar Hirani, whose latest release, PK, has done great business at the box office, came up with a thoughtful way to show his appreciation towards Sushant Singh Rajput for his special appearance in the film.
Knowing the actor's love for reading, Hirani sent him a carton filled with books - about various aspects of film-making - as a token of appreciation, a couple of days back. "Sushant was surprised by Raju sir's gesture. He had noticed Sushant's love of books while working with him, but not many would expect him to remember it and arrange for so many bestsellers," says an insider, adding that the actor is thrilled about the gift, and has already accommodated the new books in his collection.
The books range from topics like cinematography, editing and screenplay-writing to biographies, make-up techniques and the making of a few classic films. The insider says, "Sushant is happy that with so many new books, his reading habit will be taken care of for a few months."
Despite repeated attempts, neither Sushant nor Hirani could be reached for a comment. The actor is in the midst of preparations for his film with Neeraj Pandey - a biopic that stars him as Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The trailer of his next - a detective film with Dibakar Banerjee - will also be launched soon.
