New Delhi, Oct. 20 -- Actor Sonam Kapoor feels that what she says, often goes around like Chinese whispers and she ends up being misinterpreted.
Reacting to a recent news report whereby she was quoted as saying that people have forgotten that she's an actor and remember her more as a fashion icon, the 29-year-old says, "Honestly, I did not say it like that! You know how sometimes Chinese whispers happen? I had said, 'what happens is because I do such little work, what makes news is what I do besides the work'," she clarifies.
The elder daughter of actor-producer Anil Kapoor, Sonam feels that being selective about her films is perhaps a reason why her other interests garner more attention. "While my films Raanjhnaa or Bhaag Milkha Bhaag released, people went on and on about how I've done in it. And after that, because I didn't have a release till now, what else do people talk about, in between?" asks Sonam, who's recent release, Khoobsurat arrived more than an year after her last year's hit, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
"So, I said if I did more work, may be people will see me more as an actor but because I do such little work, it's like my appearances, and everything else gets more attention. So, people talk about my fashion, and then they talk about what I say, and what my opinions are ... that's all I meant, which I think was perceived differently," clarifies Sonam, who's all set for her next with Salman Khan, now.
