Mumbai, April 2 -- Over the past two-three months, news has been rife that Sonam Kapoor will star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rahul Dholakia's Raees.
But the actor slams the buzz calling it "shocking" and says that it's news to her as well. "Till I don't sign a film, I never talk about it. Till the time it doesn't come out of my mouth, it's not something I am doing," she says.
In fact, Sonam goes on to slam actors who jump the gun. "Even for Sooraj ji's film (Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with Salman Khan), I had been speaking to him since October-November, but the news came out only when I was confirmed for it. All this while, there were a hundred girls saying that they were doing the film. It never came out even once that I am meeting him," she says.
Sonam goes on to add that she is "very private as a person". She adds, "So, even if I say no to a film, I will never say that, 'Oh, I didn't like the script' or that I didn't have dates. Such stories will never come out (in the media). It's very disrespectful, wrong and unethical to do that."
Coming back to the SRK-starrer, Sonam says that she "hasn't even been offered" the film. "Right now, I am only confirmed to work with Salman, though I would love to work with Shah Rukh. Also, it would be great to team up with Farhan (Akhtar) and Ritesh's (Sidhwani) company, but no one has contacted me from their side. The director has not spoken to me about anything. I don't even know what the film is about," she says.
