Mumbai, March 12 -- In her next film, Sonam Kapoor plays a character whose boyfriend (Ayushmann Khurrana's character) loses his job. As it turns out, the role is quite similar to her real life.
Sources claim that the actor is no stranger to such a situation when it comes to her relationships, because she has dated men who didn't have a stable income or were earning lesser than her. Sonam, who is known to be carefree and do as her heart says, believes that money shouldn't be the driving factor in any relationship.
The actor has been financially independent since she started her career as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, Black (2005). Post her acting debut in Saawariya (2007), she was linked with co-star Ranbir Kapoor and later with her I Hate Luv Storys (2010) director, Punit Malhotra.
Sonam has dated people from the industry, but sources say that it was at the start of the latters' careers. At that time, she had already made a name for herself, and hence, she was getting fatter pay cheques.
The actor's spokesperson says, "Yes, Sonam recently admitted that she has previously dated boys who were earning lesser than her."
