New Delhi, March 3 -- Model-turned-actor Sidhant Gupta says that if given a chance, he would love to have actor Alia Bhatt as his leading lady in a film.
"I really like Alia. Her sensitive and mature role in Highway was a 180 degree turn from her glamorous debut in The Student of the Year. It'll be a good experience to work with her," says Sidhant, who plays the role of a hopeless romantic in an upcoming film.
"I essay the role of a guy who believes in pure love. His love is unconditional," says the actor, who is cast alongside two female leads - Suzanna Mukherjee and Gunjan Malhotra. The film also stars Filmistan fame actor Sharib Hashmi, who Sidhant, 25, says was a wonder to work with. "Sharib is a great actor, but more than that, he is a good human being. I learnt from him how to be grounded despite being a part of Bollywood," he says.
Ask him about his acting inspiration, and he says, "If you talk about Bollywood, then I admire Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. I want to make it big here just like them. I also look up to Matthew McConaughey (American actor), as he is brilliant," says Sidhant, who also fancies working with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali some day. "The way Bollywood makes a romantic film is tough to match for any other filmmaker," says Sidhant.
Prodded if he wants to try his hands on TV, too, considering even Bollywood biggies, including Amitabh Bachchan, and Anil Kapoor, have done TV shows, he says, "My problem with working in a TV show is that many makers give you the script of the episode on the day of the shoot. That's not my thing, I need time to research for a role. So, no TV roles for me for the time being," he says.
