Mumbai, July 18 -- While Sidharth Malhotra has been signed on for quite a few upcoming projects, his leading ladies haven't been confirmed yet. But we've come to know that Vikramaditya Motwane has approached Sonakshi Sinha to star opposite the actor in his next venture.
"It's not finalised yet, but Vikram has verbally discussed his film with Sonakshi. She is yet to hear the script and take a call. But it might just work out since Sonakshi has had a good rapport with Vikram since they worked together (in Lootera; 2013). It's too early to talk about it, since the film is over six months away from hitting the floors," says an industry insider.
The director apparently wants to be careful with his casting, keeping in mind the next part to his film. "Since plans are afoot to make a sequel, the actress has to be right for the first as well as the second film," adds the insider.
Right now, Sidharth is busy preparing for his 'fighter' avatar for the adaptation of the Hollywood film, Warrior (2011). He was also said to be starring in the Bollywood remake of French hit, Priceless (2006), opposite Anushka Sharma.
But according to sources, Tarun Mansukhani's venture seems to have gone on the backburner since the adaptation hasn't yet worked out to satisfaction. "The original film is very bold, so the Hindi version has to be written keeping Indian sensibilities in mind. And the first few versions haven't worked out as per plan. But there's no hurry to put the film on floors," claims the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Sidharth and Vikramaditya couldn't be reached for a comment.
