He last directed the Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012). And now, we have heard that director Shakun Batra is likely to rope in Sidharth Malhotra for his yet-untitled next.
Last month, reports suggested that the makers wanted to cast Farhan Akhtar and Imran Khan (though the latter, on being contacted, says he was never approached) as brothers in the Karan Johar-produced film. Now, sources reveal that Shakun has already met Sidharth several times with regards to his film.
"Shakun has narrated the script to Sidharth and they are in talks about the project. Sidharth has liked the script. The final call should be taken in a few days," says an insider.
When contacted, Shakun says, "We have locked the final draft of the script, so I can’t say anything right now about the cast." When asked about his meetings with Sidharth, he says, "No comments."
Sidharth, who is currently wrapping up Mohit Suri’s next with Shraddha Kapoor, also has Vikramaditya Motwane’s film in the pipeline.
He is also likely to star in the Tarun Mansukhani-directed Bollywood remake of the French hit, Priceless (2006). "Even if Sidharth signs on the film, Shakun has to wait for some time before the film goes on the floors," adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Sidharth remained unavailable for comment.
