Mumbai, Dec. 9 -- Karan Johar is known for his romantic films, though, of late, the film-maker has been diversifying his portfolio by producing varied stories. And looks like his discovery Sidharth Malhotra is also branching out.
After romancing Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor, in his next, the actor has chosen a role where he isn't paired opposite a leading lady.
A source close to Sidharth reveals, "Sidharth has played 'chocolate boy' roles however, he has now picked a script where he will be seen as a wrestler. And even though he won't have a heroine for the first time in his career, he has decided to go ahead with it because he found the storyline very interesting."
Though news is out that Jacqueline Fernandez has been signed for the film, which is also produced by Karan, the source says that she won't be seen opposite Sidharth. "The movie is based on the story of two brothers - played by Sidharth and Akshay Kumar. Though Sidharth has been telling his friends that he will miss having a romantic angle for his storyline, he is excited about being seen in a rugged look."
When asked, Sidharth's spokesperson confirmed the news.
