New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- The lead actors of the upcoming film Haider, Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, charmed the winners of HT City Stars in the City contest, when they visted the HT House on Monday. The actors spoke about their film, fanfare and rumours in a candid chat moderated by Hindustan Time's National Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor, Sonal Kalra. Excerpts:
Considering that most of the film has been shot in Kashmir, what was that one thing that touched you the most about shooting the film there?
Shahid:We were shooting the song, Bismil, at a heritage property, and the day we got there ... there were around 100-150 people standing all around. When I went to meet them, the crowd had increased to 10,000 people. When we came back the next day, a village senior told us that we have come to their home and that they have not seen a shooting for so many years... that we must let them see. There were around 15,000 people standing on the wall, seeing the shoot. It was raining, snowing ... it was minus 15-18 degrees and yet when we completed a scene, they clapped. We got so much love.
Actors have a very different way of dealing with the public gaze. People want to know about everything. How do you deal with rumours?
Shraddha:You can see the smile on my face, I get amused. I guess, people want to know kya chal raha hai. And I get entertained, but when somebody crosses the line, for instance, recently somebody wrote about my ring and all and I was like, 'Accha?' So, that's the part and parcel of being a celeb.
Shahid, you are a wonderful actor, but do you have any plans of turning director, like your father (Pankaj Kapur) ?
Shahid: :Mere andar kuch bhi director type lagta hai? Direction is a very different and complicated thing. I have honestly not thought about it. Pehle main acting ko sort out kar loon (laughs).
