Mumbai, Jan. 14 -- On January 12, Shilpa Shetty Kundra was all set to fly to Dubai for an awards function. Apparently, she was also supposed to receive an award at the event. Unfortunately, a day before she was too depart, the actor had to cancel her plans as she suffered from a severe nosebleed.
Shilpa was rushed to a hospital in Andheri. The doctors have now asked her to rest for a week. "Shilpa was at the hospital for eight hours. After the doctors administered the initial medication, tests were conducted and it was revealed that Shilpa has chronic sinusitis," says a source.
As soon as the diagnosis was clear, the actor's team informed the awards function officials of her ill health. "Apart from the event, Shilpa also had to cancel two other brand-related commitments that were scheduled for this week," adds the source. Incidentally, even before Shilpa had the nosebleed, she was not keeping too well. "She was feeling under the weather even when she returned from London, UK, on January 9," adds the source.
Shilpa's spokesperson confirmed the news, after receiving a message from the actor that read: "I was really looking forward to attending the event, but due to unavoidable reasons I cancelled it. Health is paramount.
