Production is not my cup of tea, says Shilpa

Mumbai, Dec. 21 -- After penning a book on wellness and health, which was well accepted, Shilpa Shetty Kundra wants to do more in the same space.

She feels she is naturally "inclined towards it". And though she is busy being a businesswoman and mother to a three-year-old, Shilpa has still not given up hopes of returning to the big screen.

"Nothing has come my way, to be honest. But I am still around, and people tell me that they want to see me on the big screen. Recently, the wedding song video that I did, came out, and people liked it," says the actor, who only wants to take up projects that excite her.

Shilpa turned producer with Dishkiyaoon (2014), which failed to create any magic on the box office. Post the release of the film, rumours of her producing another movie with sister Shamita Shetty in the lead, did the rounds, but nothing was confirmed. "I did want to [produce another film], but right now, everything is on hold. I have realised that production is not my cup of tea. I might produce a TV show, but not a movie," says Shilpa, who will be seen in a new show next year, but refrains from divulging any details about the same.

Ask her if direction has ever interested her, and she says, "I am not averse to it, but I don't think I am cut out for it. I will kill people on the sets if things don't go my way (laughs). So, I would rather avoid it."

On the business front, Shilpa recently launched a mobile phone with her husband, Raj Kundra, and hopes to collaborate with him on more endeavours. "We are both inclined towards learning. I have an artistic bent of mind while Raj is someone who likes to live life to the fullest. Right now, we are both on the spiritual path, and like to read about karma. As a couple, we constantly learn from each other," she adds.
