Mumbai, Feb. 4 -- Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi, who returned to theatre after eight years with a Hindi stage production in 2014, will now be part of a fund-raising show of one of his other plays. The actor has been involved with children's education initiatives for a long time, and he plans to raise funds for the same with this performance.
A source close to Sharman says, "He has done quite a few Hindi plays, and this one has been getting a lot of encouragement from the audience. Some people close to him told him about a school in Igatpuri that needs funds for maintenance, and also to buy books, benches and chairs. So, Sharman convinced the theatre group to dedicate their upcoming show entirely to this cause."
When contacted, Sharman confirmed the news and told us, "The school needed funds and I want to help them. I've been busy with the play and my films, so the best way for me to support them was by raising funds through the play. It has been getting a lot of love and I'd like to extend that to the children who need it."
