Mumbai, Oct. 24 -- In August, we reported that Shahid Kapoor's sister, Sanah Kapur (Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak's daughter) will make her Bollywood debut, in Vikas Bahl's next, which has Shahid and Alia Bhatt in the lead.
The 23-year-old newcomer recently gave her first shot, and having seen the scene, Shahid admits he feels like a "proud" brother. Revealing that Sanah was "extremely nervous" on her first day of shoot, Shahid says, "She asked my dad and me to leave. Since we were shooting in this huge field somewhere in Europe, dad went to the vanity van and I walked away, but came back since I wanted to see her first shot. I hid behind a tent and watched."
The actor goes on to add that he is proud of his sister. "I think my dad looks at me the same way I look at Sanah. Just like my dad would feel proud that his son has become an actor, I too have the same feeling. My sister has become an actress," he says. Sanah, who assisted her father on his directorial debut, Mausam (2011), will be playing the role of Alia Bhatt's sister in this film.
"And dad (Pankaj Kapur) plays Alia's father. Main toh lonely item hoon (I'm the unrelated one in the film). Alia has stolen my family. She has left me without a father and a sister (laughs)," adds Shahid.
