Mumbai, Dec. 5 -- Shahid Kapoor's recent release, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, did average business at the box office. Now, with his next, R... Rajkumar on the brink of releasing, he's quite nervous since he hasn't had a bona fide hit in some time now.
A source close to the actor reveals, "Shahid, at this point, is very nervous. He's eagerly awaiting the release. But at the same time, he hopes that it does well at the box office. The songs and promos have got a great response, so he's positive that it will do well."
Shahid is particularly excited as he's working with the director for the first time and the film involves some high-energy action sequences. The source says, "Prabhu Dheva has a good track record, and since the film is a masala entertainer, the makers have very high hopes. If the initial response is good, it usually reflects well."
Ask the actor about this and he says, "I have tried to give my 200 per cent to all my films. Even though they have not worked in the recent past, I am thankful that the audience has been good to me. I am just hoping for a little luck."
Incidentally, the actor's last film, which was critically acclaimed and did well at the box office, was Kaminey in 2009. Since then, Shahid has done several films, including his father's directorial debut Mausam (2011) and this year's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. However, none of the releases have managed to make an impact at the box office.
