Mumbai, June 23 -- For the past few days, reports have been rife that Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra might team up for director Abhishek Chaubey's next.
Considering that the two are an alleged former couple, the speculation has generated quite a buzz on the social media. However, the last we spoke with Chaubey, he told HT Cafe that he isn't aware where such "senseless news has come from". Shahid, too, seems to be taken aback with the news of Priyanka doing the film.
"It's quite absurd how Priyanka's name has been brought in. As far as I know, the makers haven't approached any actress yet. Let things get finalised first," he says. Till date, Shahid and Priyanka have starred together in two films - Kaminey (2009) and Teri Meri Kahaani (2012). And, according to a source, there isn't a rift between the two actors as rumours also suggest. "There's no issue between them. If they like a particular script, neither of them will let their personal concerns come in between. Since the script has been finalised just a few weeks ago, it's too early to talk about the final casting," says an insider.
Apparently, Chaubey is yet to sort out dates with the actor. "Shahid is currently wrapping up Vishal Bhardwaj's film, and also has Vikas Bahl's film with Alia Bhatt. So they are trying to figure out when they can start the film," adds the insider. The film is likely to go on the floors later this year.
