Shahid Kapoor turns 34 on Wednesday. Born to actor-filmmaker Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azim, Shahid, who is said to have dated Kareena Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra, is now a single man.
He has had his share of bad choices and box office duds but Shahid has made a mark in showbiz in his short span of film career of little more than a decade.
Here, we take a look at his five most memorable onscreen appearances:
Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra
The video of the title track for Aryans' album Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra was perhaps the first remarkable appearance Shahid Kapoor made onscreen. Seen opposite Hrishita Bhatt in the video, Shahid established himself as the 'cute boy' to fall for. The song was a huge hit and remained on top of chartbuster lists for several weeks.
Ishq Vishk (2003)
Shahid Kapoor received his first Filmfare Award for his debut performance for the film that was a hit at the box office. Shahid got the Filmfare and International Indian Film Best Male Debut awards that year for the movie where he played a college playboy opposite Shenaz Treasurywala and Amrita Rao.
Jab We Met (2007)
Imtiaz Ali's Kareena Kapoor-starrer movie remains one of the most loved movies of Shahid fans. He was also honoured with the Stardust awards for best actor and editor's choice awards for Jab We Met. Shahid played a sweet, introvert whose life changes when he meets and falls in love with a bubbly girl - played by Kareena.
Vishal Bhardwaj gave Shahid his first role where the actor received critics' appreciation all around. He also won the Screen and Stardust awards for best male actor that year.
Vishal Bhardwaj's third film in his Shakespeare-trilogy gave Shahid a chance to showcase his versatality as an actor. Shahid played Haider in this adaptation of Hamlet set in the backdrop of Kashmir.
Accompanied by veteran actors like Tabu, Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon, Shahid scored big on the box office too with Haider. He also received Star Guild, Stardust, Screen and Filmfare awards for best actor in 2014.
