Mumbai, June 3 -- After their victory in the finals of the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Shah Rukh Khan's team has a big celebration planned.
The Kolkata franchise has become the second team to win the tournament twice, the first being the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai team. Sources close to the actor inform us that West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, will felicitate the champions at a ceremony on June 3 in Kolkata.
The function will be attended by the owners, players and the support staff of the team. After the event, the team will participate in a roadshow on the streets of Kolkata. The party doesn't end there. According to a source, similar roadshows will be held in other cities, including Delhi. The team's captain Gautam Gambhir and a few other players will participate in these shows, while some others have prior commitments, and foreign players may need to return to their countries.
The source adds, "Normally, when a team wins, the celebrations are limited only to the place where the team is based out of. But Shah Rukh believes that there is at least one fan present in each city, and he wants to thank each one of them for supporting his team."
