Mumbai, Sept. 8 -- They have worked together to create successful soundtracks for hit films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Devdas (2002) in the past. But sometime after the release of the latter, film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and music director Ismail Darbar apparently had a fallout.
Now, however, the two seem to have buried the hatchet. A few days ago, Bhansali visited the sets of Ismail's debut directorial venture to wish the composer luck.
Confirming the news, Darbar says, "He gave me a lot of blessings. Wherever there is love, fights are bound to happen. He also told me that he will come [to the sets] again and that if I ever needed any help, he was always there."
He adds, "Sanjay is my godfather, and that's a fact that can't be changed. I am Ismail Darbar because of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. We share a special equation. At a time when no one could understand my music, he was the one who did."
So, have all the differences with Bhansali been sorted now? "All issues have been resolved, but they might return whenever we work together," says Darbar, with a smile. "Our differences are purely on a creative level and not personal."
