New Delhi, June 24 -- Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskaz is kicked about her role in Sooraj Barjatiya's upcoming family drama where she plays actor Salman Khan's sister.
"My character is quite central to the plot ... and Salman and I have intense scenes. I'm very excited about this role, and Salman is like a superstar but he has no airs about himself ... I met him once recently, and he was very gentlemanly," says the 27-year-old, most popular for playing the small-town girl, Bindiya in the 2013 romantic drama, Raanjhanaa.
Swara had earlier said in an interview to us that it was Salman's sister Alvira, who recommended her name to Barjatiya, on her stepmom Helen's insistence. "Helenji and Alvira met me at a book launch a while back, and Soorajji was like, 'I have heard your name five times in three days'... so ya, it was quite a strong recommendation," giggles Swara, adding, "I have always been fond of family dramas ... Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! is one of my favourite movies ... I hate action films ... so I had to take this up... besides, my friend Sonam (Kapoor) is also in the film, so I'm really, really excited."
The Delhi-born actor is currently shooting in Agra for another film. Prod her if she's in the sequel of Anand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu (2011) that gave her the initial fame in Bollywood, and she says, "I can never refuse if Anand Rai offers me a role. He is my favourite director."
