Mumbai, Oct. 31 -- News of Salman Khan being involved in the Hindi remake of Mahesh Manjrekar's hit Marathi movie, Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho (SAG), has been doing the rounds for a while.
But now, possibly for the first time, the actor has gone on record to confirm that he is indeed acting in the remake. While responding to a fan's query about his future projects (during an interaction via Google Hangout a few days ago), Salman said, "I'm going to play a character in one of the films, which will be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. It's a pretty large role and it (the film) is based on education."
Salman has also conceded that he will produce the film. SAG revolves around the story of Shrinivas Rane, who is an average student, but a talented cricketer. Under pressure, as his father wants him to excel at school, their relationship sours till his angry dad does something he regrets later.
An industry insider close to the actor says, "In all likelihood, Salman will start the film towards the end of 2014. His date diary is packed with other biggies." When contacted, Manjrekar says, "It is more than just a remake; the film will be inspired by SAG."
