The camaraderie between Salman Khan and ad film-maker Kailash Surendranath is well-known in Bollywood circles.
Apparently, the two have been friends since the early years of the actor’s career, when Surendranath had offered him a modelling assignment. Salman has also gone on record to say that Surendranath was the one who helped him sail through a break-up that had left him totally heartbroken. Now, the two are believed to be collaborating on a film.
A source close to the actor tells us, “Salman is trying to expand his base as a producer. He is already producing a Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty-starrer and also his own film with Kabir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Then he had a chance meeting with Kailash, where they ended up discussing the film that Kailash is planning to make. Salman liked the subject so much that he has decided to back the film.”
When contacted, Surendranath neither agreed nor denied the story, saying, “Salman is busy with his sister’s wedding, so it’s a bit premature to talk about this at the moment.”
Surendranath last directed Love You Hamesha (2001), which received a lukewarm response at the box-office.
