Mumbai, Dec. 13 -- The forthcoming season of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) just got a massive boost (no pun intended). Recently retired cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has agreed to be present at its launch this month. Giving him company at the event will be Salman Khan, whose brother Sohail Khan owns one of the teams - Mumbai Heroes.
Confirming the news, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, chief executive officer and managing director of CCL, says, "Sachin Tendulkar will launch the fourth season of CCL and we'll have Salman and his team along with 200 celebrities from different film industries from across the country in attendance."
While this event will take place at a five-star hotel in the city on December 20, the tournament will only commence on January 25 next year. Induri adds, "The event will be hosted by Kapil Sharma, and Usha Uthup is one of the performers. It is not open to public."
The opening match of the league will be played in Mumbai, after which the teams will compete in various cities. "Throughout the month, there will be games in Pune, Cuttack, Ranchi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and even Dubai," says Induri.
