Mumbai, Oct. 18 -- It's a story as old as any in Bollywood - film-makers zero in on an actor, there are celebratory toasts raised all around, and then the news comes that he or she has been replaced by someone else.
It's happened notably with Shah Rukh Khan taking Aamir Khan's place in Darr (1993), Sanjay Dutt replacing the original Munna Bhai Shah Rukh, Anil Kapoor filling in SRK's shoes in Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and Salman Khan playing the lead instead of SRK in Ek Tha Tiger (2012).
It's no longer a secret that Sushant Singh Rajput will not star in Abhishek Kapoor's next, Fitoor. The 27-year-old made his Bollywood debut earlier this year with Kapoor's Kai Po Che, but has dropped out of the director's next due to date problems. Within a couple of days, Aditya Roy Kapur's name was being heard as a possible replacement. An insider close to the project also reveals that Aditya is among "several other youngsters" who are in the running for the adaptation of Charles Dickens's classic, Great Expectations, which also stars Katrina Kaif.
In another such occurrence, Ranveer Singh claimed that he was supposed to be part of Bombay Velvet, in which Ranbir Kapoor has replaced him.
