Saif Ali Khan eats into Shahid's share?

Mumbai, Nov. 13 -- The makers of Saif Ali Khan's upcoming action flick, Bullett Raja - which is set in Uttar Pradesh - are planning to make the most of their north connect.

In order to maximise their stay in theatres, the makers have reserved most of the major single screens in the territory for the first two weeks after their release (on November 29). This move might put Shahid Kapoor's R... Rajkumar in a tight spot as his film hits theatres a week later, on December 6.

"Saif and Tigmanshu (director Dhulia) already have a great multiplex fan base, but with Bullett Raja, there is a lot of buzz even among the single screen audience," says Sanjay Ghai, who is distributing the film in the northern belt. "The trailer and songs have worked well and a lot of single screens in the territory have booked the film for two straight weeks," he reveals, admitting that other movies releasing within that period might find it hard to get good single screens. Anupam Gupta of Apsara Cinema in Meerut adds, "People here feel like they almost own the film since it is set in UP."

However, the makers of the Prabhu Dheva film aren't worried. "My chain is locked in the north territories. Those with apprehensions will have them all cleared once the movie releases," says Nandu Ahuja, senior vice president (India theatrical) at the production house backing the movie.
