New Delhi, Sept. 6 -- Unlike most chat show hosts, who are seen hurling awkward questions at their celeb guests to boost TRPs, Raveena Tandon says that she'll not do anything of the sort in her forthcoming show on a newly-launched channel.
"Mine isn't a 'Bollywood' 'gossipy' chat show. It'll deal with serious women's issues, and finding solutions to those issues. It's certainly not about asking embarrassing questions," says the popular actor of the 90s, who had made her small screen debut two years back with the Bollywood talk show, Issi Ka Naam Zindagi (2012). This time around, however, Tandon says that she wanted to do something with more substance.
Meanwhile, Tandon is undaunted by obvious comparisons with other celebhosted chat shows. "There can't be any comparisons because the common man is the star on my show, Simply Baatein with Raveena. The Bollywood celebs will be there to help them deal with issues, and tell them that everyone goes through problems in life. For instance, I have Soni Razdan Bhatt on the show who'll talk about the challenges of bringing up a teenaged girl, because Alia (Bhatt) has recently been through that phase."
Another guest who impressed Tandon was Sussanne, who separated from hubby, Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan, last year. While Tandon refuses to divulge if Sussanne will talk about dealing with a broken marriage, she can't stop raving about her confidence.
"Sussanne is a super confident, independent woman, who stands on her own feet ... and it comes across when you talk to her. She has an amazing personality," says Tandon, who will also deal with the subject of adoption on her show. "I adopted two girls when I was just 21. In fact, one of them had a son, who's now 1.5 years old, so I'm already a grandma," she gushes, adding, "Adoption has always been a subject close to my heart, so I had to have it feature on my show."
