Mumbai, Nov. 22 -- Last month, Ranveer Singh was hospitalised after a bout of dengue fever. But only days after he was discharged, the actor chose not to rest at home. Instead, he got busy with the promotional activities around his recently released film. Now, the move seems to have taken a toll on his health and fitness levels.
"It will take some time before I return to my original energy and strength levels. However, I am fit to shoot for my upcoming films (Guy and Kill Dil)," he says. Due to the slow recovery process, Ranveer has had to alter his usually heavy-duty workout regimen.
The actor explains, "I've started doing a lot of cardio and Pilates now. You can't push your body after a certain point." While he has started shooting for Gunday, he's still basking in the success of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.
Arguably, the film owes most of the buzz around it to the chemistry between Ranveer and co-star Deepika Padukone, on-screen and off it. But the actor has a different take. "I don't think our supposed off-screen chemistry has anything to do with the film's success. The audience connected with the emotions," he says.
Just four films old, Ranveer has found himself linked to all his female co-stars so far - Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha and now Deepika. The actor, known to be pretty outspoken, now seems reluctant to broach the subject. "It's true that my personal life has somehow always taken precedence over my work. But now, I have no intention of putting it in the public domain. I (will) protect my personal space very strongly."
Ranveer adds that there has "unnecessarily been too much probing" into his personal life. "Times have changed. Earlier, I would say just about anything, but ab samajh aa gayi hai (It's become clear to me now). If people are going to overanalyse what I say, then it makes sense to become protective about my personal space," he says, adding, "I will always be an open person, but I will try and not consciously put my private life on display."
Ranveer Singh is elated after the success of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (GKRRL). But the actor doesn't have time to celebrate. "I feel elated and relieved, but I don't have the time to party," he says. Reason? The actor is already in Kolkata to wrap up the last few days of shoot for Gunday, his next film.
"Once I am done with this schedule, I will immediately jump into to Kill Dill. So, where is the time to party?," he says.
Explaining what GKRRL means to him at this point of his career, Ranveer says, "You would want such a film at any point (in your career). Besides the box-office performance, the audience's and critics' reactions have also been heartening. It's a quantum leap for me with an extremely important film especially due to the stature of the director."
